1. Agreement

These Terms are an agreement between you and GN Infotech, based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India, for the SpendRoast Android app, SpendRoast Pro and this website. By installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use SpendRoast. You must be able to form a binding contract under the law that applies to you.

3. Your licence

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on Android devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in line with these Terms and the Google Play Terms of Service. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

4. Not financial advice

Budgets, insights, detected subscriptions, reminders, challenges, goals and AI chat answers are general information based on the data on your phone. Make important decisions with your bank statements and, where appropriate, a qualified professional.

5. Accuracy

The app reads bank messages automatically, and banks word their messages in many different ways. Messages can be misread, missed or categorised wrongly, and balances shown are only what your bank last reported in a message. Uncertain items go to a review queue and don't count until you confirm them, but you are responsible for checking your records. Your bank's records always take precedence.

Subscription detection and bill reminders are best-effort estimates from your own history. A missing or late reminder doesn't change what you owe, or when.

6. About the roasts

Roasts are light-hearted messages based on rules you can see and control. You can choose a gentler tone, turn rules off, set quiet hours and a daily limit, mark categories as protected, or turn roasts off entirely. Rent, bills, medical and education spending are protected by default. Roasts aren't meant to judge you, and you shouldn't treat them as advice.

7. Your data

Your financial data belongs to you and stays on your phone, as described in the Privacy Policy. Because we don't hold a copy, you are responsible for backups. Use Export if you want a copy; data deleted from the app, or lost with your phone, can't be recovered by us.

8. SpendRoast Pro, subscriptions and refunds

• What Pro includes. The Pro features are described in the app and on our website. We may improve or change Pro features over time, but we won't materially reduce what you've paid for during a paid period.
• Purchase through Google Play. Pro is sold as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase, through Google Play. Google Play processes the payment, and its terms apply to the transaction. Prices are shown in Google Play in your local currency, including applicable taxes.
• Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Google Play charges your payment method.
• Cancelling. Cancel any time in Google Play (Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions). You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Free trials and offers. If a trial or introductory price is offered, its length and terms are shown before you buy. Unless you cancel before it ends, the subscription continues at the regular price.
• Price changes. If a subscription price changes, Google Play will notify you in advance as its policies require, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
• Lifetime. "Lifetime" means for as long as we make the app and its Pro features available, on the Google account that bought it. It isn't transferable.
• Refunds. Refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policy. You can request one through Google Play. This doesn't limit any refund or cancellation rights you have under consumer law where you live.
• Restoring purchases. Use "Restore purchases" in the app while signed in to the same Google account.

9. Ads

The free plan shows a limited number of ads provided by Google AdMob, as described in the Privacy Policy. Rewarded ads are optional, and their rewards (such as unlocking the Savage tone for 24 hours) have no cash value. We aren't responsible for third-party advertisers' products or services.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the app for anything unlawful, including tracking someone else's finances or messages without their permission;
• copy, modify, decompile or reverse-engineer the app, except as the law expressly allows;
• remove notices, bypass licence checks, or unlock Pro features without paying;
• interfere with or abuse ads, for example by generating fake impressions or clicks;
• use the app's output, branding or content to build a competing product.

11. Third-party services

The app relies on Android, Google Play, Google Play Billing and Google AdMob, and on messages sent by your bank. These are provided by third parties under their own terms, and we're not responsible for them. SpendRoast isn't affiliated with or endorsed by any bank or merchant whose name appears in your data.

12. Intellectual property

The app, the SpendRoast name and logo, the roast copy and this website belong to GN Infotech or its licensors and are protected by law. Google Play and the Google Play logo are trademarks of Google LLC. Other names belong to their respective owners.

13. Changes and availability

We may update the app, add or remove features, or change these Terms. If a change to these Terms is significant, we'll tell you in the app or on this website before it takes effect. If you keep using the app after that, the new Terms apply. If you don't agree, stop using the app and cancel any subscription. We may stop offering the app; if we do, we'll give reasonable notice where we can.

14. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent the law allows, the app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't promise that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that it will work with every bank or device.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, GN Infotech won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, savings, data or opportunities, arising from your use of the app. This includes decisions you make based on the app, misread messages, and missed or late reminders.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for SpendRoast Pro in the 12 months before the claim, or INR 1,000 (or the local equivalent) if you paid nothing.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that can't be excluded by law, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

16. Termination

You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it, and cancel any subscription in Google Play. We may suspend or end your licence if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms. Sections 4, 5, 7 and 12 to 18 survive termination.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India have jurisdiction, except that if you're a consumer living elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and may bring proceedings in your local courts. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally.

18. General

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the app. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don't enforce a right straight away, we haven't waived it. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours to a successor that takes over the app. If these Terms are translated, the English version prevails.
